I looked it up and thought, "yeah, I might waste some time with this."

Then I saw the price tag.

If you haven't followed the Grimoire saga, it's 20+ years of development by a crazy guy called Cleveland Mark Blakemore, who among other things claims to be a Neanderthal. No joke. He has spent the past 20 years announcing release dates, doing things like scamming people of IndieGogo money, only to postpone the release date at the last minute when he's suddenly discovered some "microissues" that required his attention. Cleve's antics and the drama surrounding this game has spawned thousands of pages (threads?) of shitposting on the Codex and its own universe of memes. I just can't fathom that it's finally been released.

I'm probably not going to buy it though. Apparently, this masterful coder who has spent 20 years resolving bugs has created a game which crashes when you click a character portrait...

EDIT: Or maybe I'll buy it just so I can make a Let's Play with you guys as the characters.

I hadn't heard of this before, but when I started reading your post I immediately thought of Battlecruiser 3000AD.
