ToEE question

hey party people. what's the best patch to download, from TA's list?

 

I think you should get Patch 2 (and 3 if you use XP servicepack 2) and maybe the Co8 patch.

 

Actually, stay away from SP1 too.

That's always the mark of fine quality craftsmanship.

 

Sp1a is almost perfect, as far as anything Microsoft ever released. Sp2 is stable now too.

 

I tried patching ToEE with patch 2, but for some reason I can't seem to open it once I've downloaded it. It keeps saying "Cannot locate ToEE, Any English, on your computer." Same thing happens with patch 1. I'm missing something obvious, aren't I?

 

Have you tried putting it in the ToEE directory?

 

Try cursing. It works on occasion.

 

but if you jitt on your computer you also have to wipe it off... and that's yucky...

 

Yes, but the same thing happens: "Cannot locate ToEE, Any English, on your computer." Tried it on my old rig with Windows 98, tried it on my new rig with Windows xp. Nothing works. I can't even play ToEE unpatched. The game crashes as soon as it starts...

i patched the game as per the instructions DU thoughtfully left in the patch description... and the game crashes on impact. i'm so sad... on the plus side, we only paid $10 bucks for it, so the loss isn't too huge...

 

Did you buy it from someone or something? god i'm drunk

 

Do you get an error message or something?

I remember not being able to start it because f something about refreshrates but there was a fix to it somewhere.

 

bought it from game stop. the current working theory is, since troika went belly up, their games are worth fuck all on the open market.

also, there is no error message. just the black screen of death, then the desktop. always two steps into the first town.
