I dunno what I should post: Norwegian or Ukrainian/Russian music. Probably the latter, since that's where I was born, and I don't listen to Norwegian music anyway.

Anyway, Valeriy Syutkin, a rather famous singer. The song is "42 minutes", about Moscow Metro:

This one is not a standalone song per se, this is a live-action scene from a 1988 russian cartoon "Treasure Island". The group is (or was, not sure it still exists) called "Grotesque". The song's name is "Chance".

Complaining about English language dominance on an English language forum. Makes me giggle. I suppose the fact that that is even a real situation that exists for me to derive irony from proves the point.

Having never visited any part of Europe (but desperately wanting to), I've always been curious how anything gets done with the assloads of languages about. I realize most people are multilingual but it makes my poor ignorant American head hurt just thinking about it.

@Yuki - Just basic stuff. I actually can't speak korean, but I usually do "understand" to what they're saying, even with such a poor dictionary. I learned a lot from korean movies, and "random" video chats (I get like hundred of friend requests per week - on the QQ messenger).

(I also do know a Vietnamese, but just a little bit, and colloquially only. I don't watch vietnamese movies at all, but I've got like 20+ vietnamese neighbors, not counting those 2 vietnamese ex-girlfriends

)

And how about you, Yuki? Do you speak Korean?

I used to find singing in English kinda distasteful 'til I heard this song; I think it's not as vowely or something as Italian, which makes me not like it, but the setting of this text is really nice.

No love for Black Velvet Band or Seven Drunken Nights wayne? Unfortunately/fortunately depending on your perspective, I was heavily schooled in folk music by parents at an early age gaining knowledge of the Dubliners, the Corries and Lindisfarne - also I'm an eighth Irish and Scottish respectively, though half of my family feels culturally that it is Scottish given the last name Murray (a last name I don't share, as confusingly it was primarily my English dad who pushed folk music on me). Despite my "schooling", I love Drink and Fight and What's Left of the Flag by Flogging Molly (not entirely Irish, but great never the less).
