You would not let go of Batman do not you?

Naval Special Warfare Preparatory School

Robert Duncan has attended and graduate from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) school and then the 28-week SEAL Qualification Training (SQT) program. SQT qualifies all BUD/S graduates in basic SEAL skillsets in MAROPS, Combat Swimmer, Communications, TCCC, Close Quarters Combat, Land Warfare, Staticline/Freefall Parachute Operations, SERE and Combatives.

Once outside the formal schooling environment he entered a new Team at the beginning of an operational rotation can expect 18 months of Professional Development/Schools (PRODEV) and Troop unit level training (ULT) before each 6-month deployment.

This RP should be fun to read. Like watching an especially bad Van Damme movie.

Would it be better then that my character started his career just an American soldier or something? Could someone give some tips or advice?

Is this okay?

Age: 35
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Black and grey
Height: 6'4
Weight: 200 pounds
Occupation: Former US soldier (Officer?). Now Freelance Mercenary
Recommendations (sp?): General Tom Hardy, Big Jim.

Maybe we should make a separate thread for Arthgon's character's evolution.

Perhaps. What should I write under previous employments? You mean the precious contractors and what the character has done for them? Or do you mean what he has done before he became a mercenary?

Could someone tell me if the last version of Robert Duncan is okay? Or should it be like this?

Name: Robert Duncan
Age: 35
Gender: Male
Appearance: Tall (6'4), muscular and heavy set (200 pounds), dark hair and blue eyes.
Occupation: Former US Army officer. Now freelance mercenary.
Skills:
Personality: Cynic, arrogant, loves black humor.
Previous employment:
Recommendations (sp?): General Tim Hardy, Big Jim.
Equipment:

If not could someone tell me what is wrong with it? And give me some tips and advices?

Also, what for skills do you mean? Something like this? Hand-to-hand combat, light weaponry, heavy weaponry, etc.

Weight: 190 pounds
Skills: Survival, light weaponry, heavy weaponry, sneak.

Modern Mercenaries, eh? Lemme try my hand at this...

Code name: Commander Tumnus

Real name: Mr. Tumnus

Occupation: Naturalist, Monk-like Wanderer

Base of Operations:
A House near The Lamppost

Marital Status: Single

Height: 5'6"

Weight: 125lbs

Eyes: Blue

Hair: Brown, with red/brown legs

Powers: Mr. Tumnus has no super powers but possesses a keen intellect and superb fighting skills. Mr. Tumnus can also play quite the tune on his lute, and can use it to distract people while the sleeping aid he used on their tea knocks them the hell out.

History: After Lucy returned to Spar Oom, Mr. Tumnus found himself heat broken and alone. Picking up on their philosophies, he became a wandering do-gooder, armed with a stout staff, and sporadically an AK-47.

Allies: Aslan. Who needs more of an ally than a damn Lion God? Oh, and Mr and Mrs. Beaver.

Enemies: the White Witch, wolves, dwarves, and the Telemarians.

Since Yuki is semileader in this RPG (I can bet you that Wolfsbane wont mind and will bow to your expertise and work in the area) I would like her to write up a short summary of this team. Which company we are working for and any other information that might be important to know while drumming up the character.
Mostly what company we are working for.

EDIT: Seriously, to much trolling going on in this thread.

I am really sorry about this. Just trying to find out how to make a better character for a RP.

Nice to see you've been occupied in my absence.

Update:

Arthgon, you're out. And I won't let you in again.

Zanza, quit the trolling or I'll start deleting your posts.

Yuki, since you seem to know a lot more than me about this, and you seem to be pretty enthusiastic, you can take charge of the game (if you like).

Now, a few basic things about this game:

You will all be part of the same company. You will all be new (in said company, you may have had previous experience). You will all have the same coordinator.

Hey. I was just trying to find out what is wrong with my lastest version of my character. But nobody seems to help me with it. I was also the only one who asked on-topic questions about everything to know more about this RP.

I'd rather you were in charge Wolfsbane, I know next to nothing about actually roleplaying, less so running one!

Also; in today's private military industry, the terms "mercenary," "hired gun," and "soldier of fortune" are considered dirty words, and the terms "private military contractor," "security contractor," or simply "contractor" are instead to prefer.

Other acceptable terms are "security professional" and "operator."

Well, since Arthgon is out, count me in. And if anyone has questions pertaining to the U.S. military or modern military operations, ask and I'll share what I know.

Just one question: Why can Zanza use his Batman character and Darkfool his character from Narnia?

This part refers to his Batman character. This means that unless he comes up with a real character, he's out.

Batman is not allowed.

EDIT:
This is a first draft of the character to get things going, on a serious note.
The final copy will include links, but if you have any questions I'm happy to oblige.

I think It's the best if we get another thread for characters, since this one is so clogged up with shit. Just wanted to get my out as a real "model", though it's a quite lacking one.

I liked Yukis idea of writing your character as a CV. I'll start a new thread for the characters asap. Also, Yuki, you seem to know much more about modern day mercenaries than I do, so that's the part I wanted you to take charge of.

Also, I'd like to see all of you contribute to the setup and setting. The conflict will be in an African country, ok. But what's happened? Has the third Kongo war perhaps erupted (you know, hutu vs tutsie), allowing for other nations to go into a state of proxy-war for the resources in the region? Could the conflict be of such a magnitude that corporations have, independently, joined the party as well? Anyone got another idea?

While I am out of this rp, I do have an idea.

What if the forces of other nations would have help the rebels against their brutal government (like what is happening in Libya), but cannot do this offically, because of diplomatic difficulties? So they need mercenaries corps. to get this done.

I'm thinking small-scale. Like a conflict over access to a newly discovered mineral deposit (gold, platinum, diamonds, whatever). Could be between two corporations, a corporation and a local government, or two local governments. Contracted security forces protect interests on one or both sides.
