And here we go again. Xyle is probably turning the introvert contra extrovert thread into religion again.

Xyle: What do you want to proof any way? That you have the truth at hand or something?

Speaking about Mr. Nobodie. Where is he? Is he...even..still alive? I miss him and his dirty jokes and stuff.

Now that would be very embarrassing if you put your hand up.

Mr. Nobodie has the Santa avatar. So many wires are crossed right now.

I'm satisfied that this thread remained on the rails for (at worst) an entire page. It's difficult to tell where this thread went off-topic because rather than completely jumping the rails as threads so often do here, this train gradually strayed from the subject to relevant tangents.

In order for Xyle to steer this thread, somebody has to take the bait...

There you have it. That's how to recognize the bait. Armed with this knowledge, it's up to you to not chomp down on it.

He should've said "Truth...soul is penis" or "...penis is chaos" or

Since when did philosophical questions about reality become religion?

Did I say that *everyone* misunderstands me? No, I said (or meant to say) that I expect to encounter misunderstandings because...

No, I expect to encounter misunderstandings because I know what I mean to say so when I read the words that I wrote, and the meaning of what I intend to say sometimes surplants the meaning of the words that I reading. The counter to this is to wait three days (in order to forget) and then proofread. Do you really what to hear replies three to nine days (due to multiple drafts) after you post your posts?

your wood allegory can easily be construed as "Lesser people worry about inherent differences, but I don't, because I Am."

My apologies, but I must have rushed that allegory more that I thought I did because that isn't even close to what I meant. -- {I created a rewrite, but it is proabably just as bad, and I doubt that anybody wants to read it, even if it wasn't.}

Smuel wrote:
I was defining it as "consciousness" really. i.e. That thing that you proceeded to ramble on about. Exactly that thing. It's the "I" in "I think therefore I am". Yours is an illusion, as is everyone else's. Your memories are reconstructed at the moment you think you're recalling them. Your moment-to-moment decisions are governed more by base instinct and learned response than high reason. The whole lot is not what you think it is, and it really doesn't matter which philosophy you try to bring on side to support your view, because all of that stuff is constructed within the illusion and is therefore irrelevant.

If *I* equals of the essence of I then *I* means the ability to seperate me from not me. Therefore, the only way for *I* to be an illusion is for there to be no seperation. However, because I, Xyle, can perceive that I exist, *I* cannot be an illusion because the ability to seperate me from not me creates the *I* necessary to seperate me from not me.

Does this communicate the differences in our positions in an understandable mannter?

And the question of illusion is still bullshit because we still choose to satisfy  ...our hungers.

What if I am just a small fish on Smuel's hook drawing all the bigger fish to it?

So far it seems the discussion has centered more around personality psychology than religion, but I wouldn't say that Arthogon was completely off base for fearing the worst. We're one misstep away from a religious spiral.

And I expanded it to be inclusive of religious views not my own. Religions are a part of an individual's culture. To deny one's culture is to deny oneself. Should I point out all of the atheist viewpoints and call them religious? They are really are religious viewpoints you know.

There is difference between passing an iceberg and hitting it. That was merely this ship (thread) passing one.

So let's steer this ship away from that misstep.

Remember that avatar with the guy being tugged on by hooks that Zanza used to use?

No, was that avatar assigned to him as a punitive measure?

Fuck this shit. I took the Myer-Briggs personality thing that I took firstly again, and it gave me 100% in Thinking again, and when I tried to do the test that Xyle linked again to sort out all this Thinking/Feeling bullshit, it'd been updated and now costs money. Fuck that shit.

Try this one, it's still free: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes1.htm

To find them, I just plug "personality test" into the yahoo! search engine.

Also, there is the Big 5 personality types: http://similarminds.com/cgi-bin/newbig5.pl which I hadn't mentioned before.

Is that the good "off the hook" (as in "That music was off the hook!") or the bad "off the hook" (as in unhinged or crazy)?
