So it may be awesome and super cool, but to be honest there should be a thread where people post up their favourite music from time to time. I'm not trying to shit on DE's Awesome Music In Your Langauge thread, it was great and you should revive it wherever possible. However this an english lanuage forum and for any songs not appropriate to that thread I'd hope they'd be more at home here - otherwise stick them in that thread as Terra Arcanum is nothing without its multiculturistness (it's a real word, honest I checked). So post up videos, or just discuss bands, do whatever - but I will place the limit that anything in this thread should be equally awesome. And if you dare post a song here when it should have belonged in DE's thread, I'll eat your skin!

For some totally irrelevant music from me, here you go. To be honest, it's occupying my thoughts lately:

<object width="640" height="480"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tTQcDbQiOsE?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tTQcDbQiOsE?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="480" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

I thought I'd mentioned this group a while back, but the Search function suggests not.

Grandaddy is a creepy name for a band. I almost did not listen to it because of that. As for second band; the guy has too manly voice to be just speaking so boringly (Boringly is a real word? Google didn't try to correct me. Fascinating.).

Sweden's finest:

But what if I'd like to post a song in my language but am unsure if it's objectively awesome? This is not a simple matter!

PS. Rape.

Just post it. Your music is bound to suck for somebody.

Hey awesomeness speaks for itself, if it doesn't shine through from the off it shouldn't be here! For another song, here's a depressingly awesome number I stumbled across playing through Fallout: New Vegas semi-recently - it's not on the soundtrack but the title is a quest's namesake:

<object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yOH_DMO-qCo?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yOH_DMO-qCo?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

PS I must get raped a lot.

EDIT: Here's another catchy beat:

<object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/X20UmfmTVnE?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/X20UmfmTVnE?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

I decided the previous songs in this post weren't awesome enough, and so after an edit came up with this came up with this:

<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RPVAipmV7jY?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RPVAipmV7jY?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
I saw him live last summer at an obscure festival. Guess the festival and win my respect.

In other words, you win nothing.

There's a special place in Hell for folks like you. Indie music, ironic clothes, bad hair everywhere, and a cacophony of one upsmanship. So...it's just like art school.

Musical talent only flows in one direction. Towards this man's ashes.

Would that I were cool enough to be a hipster, but my hair is usually short and tidy and my clothes sadly lacking in irony. Here's some none hipster-ish ska music for your pleasure:

<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xCDu9XRionU?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xCDu9XRionU?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

As previously established, I listen to A Cappella music almost exclusively:

<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BpuddwqqWqo?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BpuddwqqWqo?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

I'd recommend decent speakers/headphones and at least 720p if you want the full experience.

I hear DSBM; aka Depressive, Suicidal, ambient or atmospheric Black Metal, and is mostly indie, so i guess i would be some sort of Black Metal Hipster?

Can I kill someone for sounding like Bob Dylan? Not just Bob Dylan, but one of his phases of reinvention?

John Lennon - Imagine. One of the best songs ever:

If you liked that baby, be sure to check out the guy's gem of a Youtube channel, which is composed of dozens "X meets metal" videos with a new one popping out every week or two.

From Rickroll to Captain Planet.

From Back to the Future to Street Fighter.

Batman? Batman. Call me maybe? Yes.

Just to underscore how good the Vaccines are, here's another song off that album that I really enjoyed:

<object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yaGYNRbV1CU?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yaGYNRbV1CU?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

And if that wasn't for everyone, well here are some Pork and Beans:

<object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/v5uDY3ItoLs?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/v5uDY3ItoLs?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

If a moderator wasn't happy with it they could lock it easily enough, so I wouldn't worry overly much.

As for music, this:

So I finally edited trite and unwelcome in the first line for awesome and super cool (yeah that's right, I don't care for making the latter half of the sentence make sense or agree - I'm out of control). Honestly I don't know why I was so bashful about making this thread in the first place - but the edit now stands and so all the people who were looking for an awesome and super cool thread and who were only interested in reading the first line of a post now know where the party's at! Come on people, I'm surely not the only person who forcefully wants to afflict their musical tastes on someone else?

Anyway this quote inspired me to post this video:
ytzk wrote:
I feel sorry for you, english: wallowing in cynicism in a cubicle somewhere in London.

Get on a plane and come smoke dope in your underpants in the subtropical rainforest with me.

A few months in a hammock will soon see you right.

For once I picked the video for a reason - the cute animals. Of course we can't all aspire to ytzk levels of zen, so for the rest of us here's some fallout inspired songs:

If the above song isn't in Fallout IV, I'll take offense.

At least if this last one wasn't in Fallout, it was in Bioshock.
