A new thought has come into my mind - to make passage into Void operational before the player can be banished into Void either by Nasrudin or K'an Hua.
The rift is located near the Liam's workshop where the Void creatures spawn from the portal. In case the player hadn't sealed the rift yet, he could enter thru into Void, where Bane of Kree, Gorgoth, Kraka-Tur etc. are. The Player could possibly meet Arronax (or any of the banished creatures) and bring him (or any of them) thru unsealed rift. The Player would certainly find out what's going on in Void - that Kerghan has become de facto the king who has gained the upper hand in whole Void.
This would make the lore of Arcanum a "little" different but really very interesting - cos there are factors that influence the whole story, e.g. Player could return Arronax before meeting with Kerghan - and so Kerghan would not be able to stop the Player before he leads Arronax thru the portal that links the Void with the portal near Liam's workshop. After accomplishing this, Player could seal the rift and thus complete the quest of Liam's workshop.
Therefore - Kerghan could be trapped - and the Dark Elves and many other characters would be able to hear the truth, told by Arronax when rescued. That would very well make many things different. What you say? Wouldn't it be interesting? How do you think the story could evolve then, when you take all the main quests into consideration?
This is the Arcanum 2 Discussion. Spoilers should be assumed. -DF
