Hi, I just (re)discovered the soundtrack download section that was once on the original Sierra homepage of Arcanum (now hosted on terra-arcanum). Since a friend of mine likes this soundtrack pretty much and plays the violin she would be very happy if she could get the music sheets for the the tracks as offered on this page: http://www.terra-arcanum.com/sierra/media/media-soundtrack.html The problem is: I can´t get any browser to show those sheets. Firefox wants a plugin (which is not available for Firefox as it seems), Internet Explorer just don´t show anything and an older Netscape Navigator Version crashes when I try to open the site. I already downloaded the Final Music Viewer. It installs, but as it seems it doesn´t "plug into" any of my browsers. I would be really grateful for any advise how to display those sheets or how to extract the .MUS files (as it seems this is the "Finale Music Viewer" - format) from the .html - files. Thanks and bye, Norwood

Now I've just tried myself with Finale Notepad and Finale Viewer but neither would open them (though Finale Viewer didn't want to work on Vista). Finale Notepad told me something about putting a cursor before the start of the file and how it was all too hard for it. Looking at the file format, it looks like it might be an old format which has changed and so now isn't supported by the newer version. Download one of those though and see if you can get it to work in the Finale Viewer.
Thanks for the quick help, DarkUnderlord. Unfortunately it doesn´t work for me either. I´ve tried older versions of the Finale Notepad but those show the same error. Bad karma as it seems. I wrote an email to the Finale support, explaining my problem, but I don´t have high hopes in getting an answer. Also wrote an email to the composer, but I guess he also got better things to do than replying to a request for a 7 - 8 year old soundtrack he once made. But nevertheless thanks again for the reply. I´ve saved all the files, hoping that I maybe find a solution for this problem.
I´ve just posted my problem on the official Finale board, which still distribute the succesors of the program the soundtrack was once created with. Also send an email to their support, but no reaction yet (although I don´t really expect an answer from them). I´m wondering what kind of file-type that .mus is.. Even the old versions of the Finale Notepad / Viewer can´t read it. So lets see what the "insiders" (hopefully) from the official board can tell me about it. Thanks for the try mathboy, even though I can´t draw any conclusions from that weird code

Yeah, it's not a standard file format and there appear to be different versions floating around. I don't think the files are corrupt, because I'm pretty sure I remember them working once and Ben Houge's website is having the same problem.
