    Summoned creatures have their own aptitude, independent of the mage who cast them.

    jus to get it straight then......a magically summoned creature is not magical?
    what about undead? are they magic? since it is the magic that binds them?

    It really depends on the creature BB. I don't know all the aptitudes of the creatures, but just because they were summoned does not neccessarily mean they are magickly inclined, i.e. a wolf is still a wolf regardless of whether you summoned it or not.

    So a summoned demon should be magic, but a wizard polymorphed to a mundane sheep looses magical aptitude regarding his effect on technical devices?

    No, I don't think polymorphing changes the targets aptitude.

    For thoses that were not in the #arcanum chat the aptitude for undead is 0 therefore a created undead would have an aptitude of 0
    And if you want to visit everyone on the channel my website has info on how to get there :wink:

    Okay...I'll post again, just for the heck of it. Summon Undead works, unlike Summon Orc Champion and as I've said in other posts it's a neutral monster. It isn't in your control, totally berserk, and you aren't held liable in any way for what it does.

    Your reply seems to me to be in the vein of what alignment the creature is that was not what i asked, i wanted to know what aptitude the summoned creature has. but i think Ratster has already answered my question.

    Well don't you control the creature you summon?

    Basically whatever you summon is already in the game, I'd suspect it would be at least. Thus if you were to summon a Mechanical Android/Warbot through a spell (which won't be happening without editing as I see it) it would be a highly Tech Aptitude rating creature.

    //update
    Might as well edit this in instead of double posting, the Summon Undead spell creates a 'berserk' creature that will even attack another summoned Undead. For other critters that don't have the same out-of-control problem you can control them of course. I was just stating my results from the only summon spell that I've seen work so far. Didn't know that Undeads were considered 0s on the tech/magick scale. I suppose that makes sense...no brains and no aptitude at anything I suppose, still if a bot has a tech aptitude and it's mindless...

    Yeah, I read that, I haven't tried it yet, kind of had to really push my char to get the Summon Undead if you know what I mean, heh. I'd be interested to see if it has any reaction/alignment impact, heh.
