That quote was taken from here and caused me to think we should add to the forum index a "Newest Banned Member" sort of like the "Newest Registered User" that is shown at the bottom of the page. Anyone else in favour of the idea?
I am in favor. I'll admit to being very curious about who had just been banned when Vorak said that. Maybe there could be a running list of the banned/unbanned/rebanned members.
I'm all for it, however of the administrators DU is the only one who could code such a thing, and the likeliness of him actually bothering with such, is right next to null...
The chances of me actually bothering to code this is also just next to null. So whether or not I even want to become an admin, is irrelevant.
Well now you really can't be an Admin. I must say you studying law surprised me, I figured you'd end up doing something IT related.
Well, I decided I wanted to study law about six years ago, so I must've mentioned it somewhere sometime...
Working with something IT-related is still not out of the question though, lots of legal questions surrounding the Internet after all. I guess what it all boils down to is if you're one of those lawyers who'd like the Pirate Bay to keep up what they're doing or one of those lawyers who want to shut it down. And we already have a banned member list to gloat at. It's called the Vault of Folly.
I definitely want TPB to keep going. However one can not argue that they're not contributing to copyright violations, and as far as I know, contributing is also a crime. The fact of the matter is however that copyrighted materials can be found through Google as well, and like Google, TPB doesn't host anything that violates any ones copyrights, merely materials that point to such. My point being, if you want to take down TPB, good luck taking down Google first...
I think it'd most likely go the other way. If somebody could take down TPB then it would set legal precedent to take Google down.
Take down Google and I'm sure that economies worldwide will take a hit. Meaning that it won't happen.
While that would be the logical way to do it, no one will want to take down Google. Therefore, as long as TPB claims they do nothing that Google doesn't already do, they have a good argument. Same thing with live search, you can find copyrighted stuff there as well. That's so unlikely it's not even funny...
No, no, no. I think you misunderstood me.... Microsoft is my friend. I like Microsoft. Microsoft programs are on my Microsoft computer. I'm happy with my Microsoft life. I like Microsoft. Microsoft is my friend. ( a little reminiscent of ‘the Computer’ in the RPG Paranoia )
